Palm Sunday and beyond
Palm Sunday (or as it is now known, Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion) is celebrated this year on March 15 & 16.
The Mass schedule for Palm Sunday is the usual - Saturday at 5pm, Sunday at 8 & 10:30am.
The liturgy of Palm Sunday begins with the gospel account of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, blessing of palm branches, and procession. Once inside the church, the liturgy undergoes a drastic mood-swing as we recount the Passion of the Lord.
If you wish, you may bring your old palm branches with you to church, and we will recycle them for you. They will become the ashes we bless and use next Lent at our Ash Wednesday services.
