Holy Week & Easter

First off - note this well! There is NO 5pm MASS (anywhere) the night before Easter! Mass on this day is at 8pm.

The Easter Vigil Mass (in EVERY Catholic parish) begins after dark. So, our Mass will be at 8pm. (In our diocese, no parish may begin Mass before 8pm. We will begin at 8pm)

And so, here is our special schedule for Holy Week and Easter: and PLEASE NOTE that the times of our celebrations for Holy Week and Easter are different from the usual.

Tuesday: 10:30am - Chrism Mass
at Saint Patrick Cathedral, Norwich

Wednesday: no services

Thursday: 7:30pm – Mass of the Lord’s Supper
Includes the Gospel of the Last Supper & washing of feet
Feast of Breads follows

Friday: 3:00pm – Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion
Includes Saint John’s Passion Gospel,
Veneration of the Cross & Communion
5:00pm – Soup & Bread Supper
7:00pm- Living Stations of the Cross

Saturday: 8:00pm - Easter Vigil 
Note: No 5pm Mass this day
Mass begins after dark and includes the Blessing of the New Fire, the lighting of the Easter Candle, the Exsultet, the story of Salvation from Creation to Resurrection passed down through the Bible , Renewal of Baptismal Promises, Baptism, Confirmation & Eucharist…

Easter Sunday: 8 & 10:30am – Resurrection of the Lord
Includes the Resurrection Gospel, Renewal of Baptismal Promises & Eucharist
