What’ll it be: Shrove Tuesday or Mardi Gras? Shrove Tuesday is a faith community’s day of confession as a way of preparation before entering Lent; Mardi Gras is a day of conspicuous consumption as an hedonistic individual. American Catholics, we shall choose … conspicuous consumption.
So don your funny hats and beads, and celebrate the Gospel of Gluttony in our annual Mardi Gras festivity on Tuesday, February 5 at 6:30pm.
Still no action yet on when the next Haiti vacation will be, but you can start getting ready now. Holiday gift tags will be distributed at Masses on November 17&18 and November 24&25. This holiday season, Claire Crane is working with our adopted social worker, Jannette, to provide gifts for eleven families. The goal is to fulfill each child’s gift tag “wish” and to provide additional items, such as grocery store and store gift certificates to make each families holiday a little brighter. These are families in great need, physically and emotionally. Anyone who wishes to make donations by cash or check can do so by giving the donation to Claire in lieu of a gift tag, and she will do the shopping.
Checks should be made out to Sacred Heart and please also put Covenant to Care in the memo field. All donations and gifts are due on the weekend of December 8&9 at one of the Masses. Questions? Please call Claire at 870-8478.
Sacred Heart gives thanks together as a community on Wednesday evening at 7pm.
Please join us - we all have so much to be thankful for.
