On Monday, 10/12/15 some Confirmation Prep members and Youth Group members (and one 8th grader) completed a service project at Sacred Heart. Seven youth volunteered on their day off from school to pull weeds for almost two hours to help maintain the gravel walkway and patio around the fire pit. The fire pit has been enjoyed a few times for social activities by the youth group, and has also been utilized for ceremonial services such as the Easter service fire.Located on the hill next to the old church, the fireplace, benches, gravel walkway and patio are an Eagle Scout project from Josh Chaffee, completed on 7/19/13 for the enjoyment of the Sacred Heart Church community. It is handicapped accessible and is a nice place to sit for quiet prayer or reflection. Please contact the church office if you’d like to use this area for a church function.
My husband and I have maintained this area by ourselves for a couple of years now, and it has taken us many hours over several days. We are very grateful to the following youth for their hard work:
